I had the opportunity to meet with Larry Celzo, First Vice President and Lending Officer for the Northeast Florida market for Central Bank. Larry described himself as a quiet, shy underwriter when he began his financial career 19 years ago. But circumstances and experiences changed him to the point that today he has become an advisor and personal friend of the many of the top CEO’s, government leaders and even international personalities throughout Northeast Florida. Larry credits his change to 25 years of service in the United States Air Force and his work as an 8-year program chairman and then president of the Meninak Club of Jacksonville. In 2006, Larry was hired by a Tampa-based bank to set up a branch operation in Jacksonville, where he worked in personal banking, operations, HR, marketing and assisting in raising $60 million in capital to establish the branch. As a result, he has developed four major advantages he brings to commercial lending: 1) speed of closures; 2) avoiding or managing complications and complexities; 3) studying and overseeing the complete process; and 4) streamlining the process. As Central Bank’s Lending Officer, he provides commercial loan consulting as well as assistance with SBA 504 loans, concentrating in the North Florida market. He can be reached at 904-853-3255 or at LCelzo@CentralBankFL.com. He is pictured on the right with Les Loggins.
